What I would stress however is that I’m not merely some disgruntled academic griping about a bit of plagiarism.
Nor is it an escalation of the vendetta against reviewer two.

Elsevier, and by extension Relx did a very bad thing. They also have refused to fix the bad thing.
I have escalated it to the executive level.

It isn’t fixed.

It carried a significant personal cost. Including a waste of a year. And it’s a cost that will continue to accrue until they fix the bad thing. Including risks of life altering real permanent damage.

“Gripe” , although the colloquial term for this sort of a site, is therefore a bit of an understatement for my issue.
